WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON?
Porcelain enamel on cast iron is a protective layer bonded to cast iron at high temperatures. Made by applying a frit (a particulate glass) to the cast iron and baking at 1200-1400°F, this durable finish combines the strength of cast iron with the beauty of porcelain enamel. Porcelain enamel is heat-resistant and waterproof, making it ideal for cooking and serving a range of foods.
EASY TO COOK AND CLEAN
The smooth porcelain enameled interior of the Lodge Dutch Oven minimizes sticking, promotes caramelization, and resists stains. While it’s dishwasher safe, we recommend hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush to maintain its longevity and appearance.
